In the first picture ^ you can also see that the cups are much too small and the underwire is cutting into her side breast tissue instead of containing all of her breast. This is another sign to look for when deciding if a bra fits or not.

From what I’ve seen and from personal experience, wearing a too large band size is the biggest mistake most girls and women make. It causes straps to dig into your shoulders, it gives you poor posture, it gives your breasts virtually no support at all since they are only being “supported” by the straps. And even for women with smaller bust sizes, too large bands cause your bra to constantly ride up causing the underwires to sit on your delicate breast tissue (a painful and annoying feat to endure that also makes “resituating” your bra and breasts a daily nuisance). With larger bust sizes, basically your boobs fall out from under your bra… which I’ve seen and tried to correct at work, but some women just don’t want to be told they are wrong and refuse to change their habits. (When you raise your arms and your bra shifts upward, even a little, your bra is too big around. It should be staying firmly in place.) What I don’t understand more is that most women HATE being told that their breasts are larger than they actually are AND that their underbust is smaller than what they have formerly believed to be. Why? why why. (When the center gore (the piece connecting the two bra cups in the middle) is not sitting flush with your breast bone, the band is too large). (If the underwires are cutting into the sides and center of your breasts, your cup size is too small. Many times the “fat” spilling out from your bra cups is actually breast tissue being pushed out of your bra and basically separated from the rest of your breast tissue by the underwires (sounds gross!)). And even when seeing how good a correctly-sized bra fits, they still revert back to their old size because they can’t accept that they’ve been wrong about their own bodies. why am i writing this. I’ll probably lose followers because of this…But, knowledge is good for you! I should be in bed… what am I doing.

Oh hey! and the “rule” that you should add 4 inches to your initial underbust measurement to find your band size is gravely inaccurate! “This actually comes from back in the 50s where the ideal hourglass measurements were 36-24-36, so inches would be added to the band size as ‘vanity sizing’. Not only that, but the materials used in the 50s were much firmer, stiffer and less pliable than they are today – meaning there would be no wiggle room if you did have a size that was too tight. This is no longer the case nowadays; stretchy material is used for everyday bra bands in order to give maximum comfort and support.”
Follow this link to see the difference of fit when measuring correctly and incorrectly for a woman who measures at the size of 30GG/32G.

Okay, I’ll finally stop now.
